About this course

A two-hour course for TY coordinators and the TY teachers who guide each student's portfolio, including schools starting Portfolio Development for the first time. The TY Programme Statement names the student's TY portfolio as one of the three elements to reporting in TY and gives Portfolio Development one class per week, and the NCCA's guidance says each student should create and develop their own portfolio, digital, physical or both. The course follows the guidance through a TY year: planning the key points, goal setting and review, a chronological review of student experiences, progress across the four Student Dimensions, critical reflections, and an end-of-year reflection testimony of no more than 300 words. Every template is yours to download and adapt.

What you will be able to do

By the end you will be able to place the TY portfolio and the Portfolio Development component in your TY programme as the TY Programme Statement and the NCCA's guidance describe them, plan the year's key points with your TY Core Team, help students set and review goals across the four Student Dimensions, guide critical reflections on key moments, and support each student's end-of-year reflection testimony while their portfolio stays their own.
