The new senior cycle subject, taught from day one.
Life, Community and Work replaces LCVP for students starting fifth year in September 2026. The full two-year course is on the online learning platform: 120 lessons across four strands, the four Applied Learning Tasks, the Digital Portfolio and the work-experience placement, all planned.

A portfolio that builds itself as you teach.
Portfolio in Action is 60% of the grade, and the risk with any portfolio subject is arriving at sixth year with an empty folder. Here the portfolio is opened in the first lesson and added to throughout, with the four Applied Learning Tasks landing across the closing lessons of each strand. You lead from the interactive whiteboard while the same lesson is open on each student's own device, which is also where their portfolio work happens, so they can keep building it between classes.

The full two-year course, all four strands, built from the published specification. Each strand runs to 30 lessons and lands one of the four Applied Learning Tasks, and the Digital Portfolio is set up in the first lesson and built continuously from there. Assessment is at common level: Portfolio in Action is worth 60% and the written examination 40%.
