    1 - Welcome & Warm-up

Warm-up (30 seconds): Open your Digital Portfolio folder from Lesson 1. Look at your Project Brief page — what is your Something Real project again?

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

    • Review all Unit 1 learning outcomes on computers, hardware, storage, files and basic functions
    • Troubleshoot common problems in pairs
    • Reflect on progress and connections to your Something Real project and other LCA courses
    • Prepare for word processing unit with organised portfolio

This is your Unit 1 review lesson. You'll check your portfolio, help a partner troubleshoot, and write a reflection connecting what you've learned to your project.

    2 - Unit 1 Skills Checklist

    Unit 1 Learning Review

Read through this checklist of what you've learned in Unit 1. Put a ✓ next to each skill you can demonstrate right now.

    • ☐ I can create folders and organise files in my Digital Portfolio
    • ☐ I can identify basic hardware components (CPU, RAM, storage)
    • ☐ I can find and use system settings on my computer
    • ☐ I can turn on one accessibility feature and explain what it does
    • ☐ I know common file formats (.docx, .pdf, .jpg, .png)
    • ☐ I can evaluate online sources using the CRAAP test
    • ☐ I understand how to use AI tools honestly with verification

    Portfolio Audit

Look in your Digital Portfolio folder. You should have:

    • Project Brief (Lesson 1)
    • Research Page with 5 verified facts (Lesson 2)
    • Accessibility Audit with screenshot (Lesson 3)

    3 - Step-by-step: Portfolio Organisation & Troubleshooting Prep

Follow these instructions to organise your Digital Portfolio and prepare troubleshooting scenarios. This ensures everything is in order before peer teaching.

4 - Peer Teaching: Troubleshoot for Your Partner

    Success criteria:

    • Exchange problems with a partner
    • Each person diagnoses and suggests a fix for their partner's issue
    • Write down what you learned from helping (or being helped)

Feeling shy about pairing up? That's normal! Just show your partner your paper - they have problems too. (Solo students pair up, pairs split and each finds a partner). Exchange your written problems from Step 3. Take turns: Person A explains their problem, Person B suggests solutions. Switch roles. Write 2 sentences about what you learned.
