Look at the seven-principle poster on screen and the name strip below while you settle. You have already practised accessibility features such as alt text, captions, contrast, and readable type. Today you go one step wider: Universal Design is the idea of building a presentation that works for as many people as possible from the start, not bolting on fixes at the end. That mindset matters for your VET interview presentation, where a real examiner needs to follow your ideas quickly and without friction.
You will match all seven in the class activity. For your written check you will choose only two from a short high-yield list.

Use your printed principle strip while you listen. In digital presentations, Universal Design means choosing layout, media, and controls so the widest possible audience can understand and use the work without a special version. Accessibility features you already practised (alt text, captions, contrast) are tools. The principles are the reasons those tools matter.
Here is the kind of short page you will build. A student preparing a Work Experience interview pitch wrote:
Vague → concrete: "Make it accessible" is too vague. Better: "I will use high-contrast black text on white and captions on my 20-second placement clip so the examiner can follow without strain."
Notice the pattern: name the principle exactly, then state a concrete choice in the presentation.
For your written check you will choose exactly two from these four only:

You will still match these three in the class activity. They are not on today's written shortlist unless you finish early and use them as stretch: Flexibility in use (works across formats, e.g. live slides that also export as PDF); Tolerance for error (mistakes easy to undo); Low physical effort (comfortable controls, little fatigue). Full glosses are on your printed principle strip.
As a class, match each digital presentation choice to the Universal Design principle it best shows. Do not drag until the class has talked through each card once. Your teacher will run this in two beats: talk it through first, then place the cards and check.
Listen for the three issue titles — do not read the whole table unless your teacher asks. Your teacher will flash these titles, take quick fixes out loud, then rewrite one vague line on the board.
