Unit 1 is done. You have worked on digital identity, workplace rules, bias, AI answers, and the six checks on real websites for KA1.
Those six checks are authenticity, authorship, bias, objectivity, accuracy, and purpose. Keep them in mind today as you rate past work, write Reflective Journal Entry 5 on one habit you will change when you read online, then say that habit out loud from short notes.
A strong habit entry names one change, says why it matters, and points at real work you already did. It is not a list of everything you learnt.
| What the entry needs | What that looks like |
|---|---|
| One keepable change | Stopping before you share until you know the author |
| Why it matters | That check would have saved half an hour of rewriting |
| Proof from your own work | A template cell, a bias mark-up, an AI comparison, or your KA1 note |
Read this short model:
"When I started the website pack I opened the first result and trusted the headline. On my second template I noticed the page had no named author and no date, so I left it out of my synthesis. From now on I will not use a page until I can name who wrote it and when it was last updated. That one check would have saved me half an hour of rewriting."
One habit. Evidence from real work. That is the shape.
Have your KA1 pack and unit templates open before you rate. If your KA1 pack is missing, use your other Unit 1 work instead: your bias mark-up, your AI comparison or your practice website template.
Unit 1 six checks (the same list as your KA1 pack): authenticity, authorship, bias, objectivity, accuracy, purpose.
Rate yourself on these four skills from Unit 1. Give a short evidence note for each rating from work you actually did: a template, a bias mark-up, an AI comparison, or a research note. Then say which skill is strongest and which still needs work. You will use that pair when you write Journal Entry 5.
Write Reflective Journal Entry 5. Name one thing you will do differently when you read something online. Ground it in the self-check you just did. Aim for five to six sentences, then mark and redraft once.
When you finish, copy the clean version into your Reflective Journal. In your Communication Portfolio note the filename m2_l40_journal_entry5_<your-initials>. (The short oral sign-off in the next step is a second, separate Portfolio note.)
Take the habit from Entry 5 and say it out loud to a partner from short notes, not a script. This is short practice for talking about your own work: speak the change, why it matters, and the bit of Unit 1 work that showed you needed it.
Portfolio checklist for this lesson: (1) journal filename m2_l40_journal_entry5_<your-initials>; (2) oral sign-off filename m2_l40_habit_oral_<your-initials> with who heard you and when.
