Have you ever typed over a cell by accident and lost what was there? What would you want the spreadsheet to do next?
Edit mode lets you change one letter inside a cell without retyping it all. You double-click the cell to open it.
Clear empties one cell. Delete row removes the whole row, so use it with care.
Undo brings back what you just changed. Redo puts the change back again.
Fill-drag carries a pattern like 1, 2, 3 down a column.
You clear the wrong cost by mistake. You press {{kbd:Ctrl+Z}} ({{kbd:Cmd+Z}} on a Mac) and the old cost comes back.
You will make a short practice sheet that has some mistakes in it on purpose. Copy the table below, then follow the steps in the box underneath. This file is only for practice.
| Item | Category | Cost (€) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stall fee | Venue | 40 | Saturday market |
| Phone blanks | Materials | 25 | pack of 20 |
| Bussiness cards | Promo | 150 | 100 cards DRAFT |
| Packaging bags | Materials | 12 | brown kraft |
After you practise Undo, you should still see Packaging bags in the sheet. If you don't, ask your teacher before you go on.
If you wipe something by accident, stop and press Undo.
If you don't have the budget file yet, ask your teacher to help you make it.
