Have you ever wondered how to plan your week in Spanish? Today we're learning the days of the week so you can talk about your routines, sports practice, and weekend plans en español!
In Spain, children go to school Monday to Friday just like us, but they have fun weekend activities too. Knowing the days helps you make plans with Spanish-speaking friends.
Here are the 7 days of the week in Spanish. Click each day to hear how it's pronounced, then say it out loud yourself!
Notice how some days sound similar to English - like 'viernes' (Friday) and 'sábado' (Saturday). These 'cognates' make Spanish easier to learn!
Time to hunt for the days! Find all 7 Spanish days hidden in the letter grid. Click and drag to highlight each word as you spot it.
Tip: Some words go backwards or diagonally - look carefully! Say each day out loud when you find it to practise pronunciation.
Work with a partner to practise making weekly plans! Follow the conversation prompts together, taking turns as Person 1 and Person 2. Listen to the audio if you need help with pronunciation.
Spin the wheel to land on a random day! Say what you do on that day in Spanish, like 'El sábado, ¡juego al fútbol!'
Try to use complete sentences to practise. Everyone gets a turn to spin and speak!
