You are mid-placement. Today you are reflecting while the work is still happening around you: one of the few points in the course where you can evidence a transferable skill while you are still on the floor, not from memory later.

A rating without a moment is just a guess. Your job is to rate six core transferable skills against real workplace occasions, and back every rating with something that actually happened at work.

If your placement timing has not landed yet, use one recent part-time or voluntary shift your school has already agreed counts for this work. Same rule: one real occasion per rating.

Three ideas hold this lesson together. Read each row before you open the audit.

Open the self-audit. Rate each of the six core transferable skills (Communication, Teamwork, Problem-solving, Time management, Adaptability, Initiative) against what has actually happened on placement so far. These six are the course set everyone rates mid-placement. If you rated the same skill before placement, enter that earlier rating first so you can see the movement. Map any earlier personal list onto these six where the labels match.

Pre-placement ratings often live in your daily skill log (Strand 2.1) or in Strong Skills Evidence (Strand 1.1). Open whichever you have.

If placement timing has not landed yet, use one agreed recent part-time or voluntary shift your school has already approved. Same rule: one real occasion per rating.

The rule: a rating only counts with a sentence of workplace evidence. Name the day, the task, and what happened. Not "communication: 3". Write the phone call you had to make, the customer you could not help alone, or the job list you had to reorder when the plan changed.

Self-audit ratings and evidence lines stay in this tool as working notes only. They are not your portfolio piece.

Create (or open if you already have it) a document titled Placement Day 2 Reflection in your Digital Portfolio Strand 2.2 folder. That document sits in your Digital Portfolio and becomes raw material for ALT 4 and your Portfolio in Action work later. Required contents:

• Heading: Placement Day 2 Reflection
• Six skill rows: skill name / pre-placement rating (if any) / mid-placement rating / evidence sentence with day, task, and what happened
• One paragraph headed Skill I am weaker at than I thought: name the skill and what on the floor proved it

Copy your six rows from the audit into that document, then write the weaker-skill paragraph there. That surprise is gold for ALT 4 later.

Talk these through with the person beside you. If you are working alone, jot a short answer under each question before you move on.

• Which rating would your supervisor probably score differently from you, and what would they have seen that you might have missed?
• Why does banking this evidence now, mid-placement, beat writing it from memory after the last day, especially for the plan responding to workplace feedback you will build in ALT 4?

Before you finish this step: add one supervisor-perspective sentence under your weaker skill in Placement Day 2 Reflection (what they might have noticed that you nearly missed). That line is required, not optional.

Today you reflected mid-placement, while the work was still live.

• You rated six core transferable skills against real workplace occasions, not adjectives
• You used workplace evidence: day, task, and what happened on the floor
• You banked Placement Day 2 Reflection in your Digital Portfolio Strand 2.2 folder, with six evidenced rows, the skill-you-are-weaker-at paragraph, and one supervisor-perspective line
• That mid-placement evidence is raw material ALT 4 will need when you plan a response to workplace feedback

Optional stretch, only if a natural moment comes up on a later shift (do not corner your supervisor): note one short phrase a colleague used about a skill and add it under your ratings when you next open the document.
