Name a job where a second language is the whole job. Then name one where it is just useful.
Look at the map of South America on the board. One language stretches across many countries. Help count where Spanish is spoken, then spot who speaks Portuguese instead.
Now switch from looking to listening. Listen to each short clip twice. Quietly guess which language you hear. After the second play, we will share which one surprised you, and whether any clip linked back to our South America map or opened a door somewhere else, including home.

Picture a big room where people from lots of countries sit together. Someone speaks once. Helpers called interpreters make sure every speech can be heard in many languages, so nobody is left out. In Europe that can mean as many as 24 languages in one meeting, a bit like needing help so every teammate at an international sports day can join in.
