    1 - Furnishing a Small Piso ~5 mins

Illustration for Furnishing a small pisoPicture a small flat, a piso, in Valencia. Name three things you would put in the bedroom. Keep them in your head for a moment.

Today we learn eight Spanish furniture words with el or la, we place each one in a room, and we close the year's big word list together.

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

    • Name eight pieces of furniture in Spanish, each with el or la
    • Say which room each piece belongs in, using the labels on the board
    • Pick one word from this whole year that you will use first

2 - Eight Spanish Furniture Words ~10 mins

We will see the English first on each card. Listen to the Spanish, then say the full word with el or la together. Listen again and repeat, then try it from memory before we check the back. Notice the accent on sofá and the long ending of estantería.

3 - Spin, Say, Then Place ~10 mins

We spin the wheel on the board. When it lands, say the full Spanish furniture word with el or la together.

Then point to the room label it belongs in: el dormitorio, el salón or la cocina, and say the link aloud (for example la camael dormitorio).

    4 - Into Your Copy ~3 mins

    COPYBOOK MOMENT

Look at the model on the board: la cama — el dormitorio (bedroom).

Open your copy and write four furniture words with el or la. Beside each one write the room it belongs in, using the board labels (el dormitorio, el salón, la cocina) or the English room name. Take care with accents on sofá, lámpara and estantería.

    5 - Furniture Bingo ~10 mins

You will get a bingo card. Listen for the Spanish furniture word with el or la. When you hear one that is on your card, mark that square. First full line calls out, then reads the line back in Spanish.
