The Maths Week Challenge 2026 ran from Monday 5 to Friday 16 October. Over ten school days, 718 classes from 386 schools in 26 counties played together on their classroom boards, three minutes at a time. Thank you to every class that took part. Here are the classes that finished on top.
🏆Top class at each level
Each level had its own all-Ireland leaderboard, and each class’s best single go counted. The top class at each level was:
✓3rd class: two classes were listed in 1st place: Miss Gilmartin’s 3rd Class (Multigrade), Galmoy Mixed NS, Kilkenny (8,360) and Ms. Leahy’s 3rd Class, Scoil Mocheallóg, Limerick (8,040)
✓5th class: Mr. Molloy, St Conleths NS, Kildare (7,760)
✓6th class: M. Katie’s 6th Class, Lucan Community National School, Dublin (8,120)
📜Certificates for every class
The top class in each county at each level won a County Winner certificate, so a class only had to beat the classes in its own county. Every class that played earned a certificate with its best score on it, and the county tables are still up on the leaderboards.
